CASHIER/ADMINISTRATOR – SALT RIVER BRANCH

The Cashier/Administrator’s primary purpose is to provide administrative support to our operations. The successful candidate will be required to:

  1. Accurately identify commodities, correct grading, and weigh commodities as specified.
  2. Ensure that an accurate weighbridge ticket is generated after every transaction.
  3. Ensure accurate weight deductions are made for all bins, crates, trolleys, bakkies, etc., for all weighbridge tickets.
  4. Accurately process all weighbridge tickets.
  5. Count and reconcile cash daily.
  6. Accurately pay scrap customers and dealers.
  7. Manage large cash receipts and payments accurately.
  8. Maintain effective and efficient time management.
  9. Generate and maintain various reports.
  10. Perform general office administration.
Qualifying Experience
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, and Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work with numbers efficiently.
  • Previous experience in administration and cashier duties is essential.
  • Code 08 driver’s license with own vehicle is essential.
  • Must be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (speak and write).
  • Excellent communication, telephone, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to handle pressurized work situations.

Standard hours

07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday

07h30–16h00: Friday

May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements.
