COMPLIANCE & OPERATIONS LEAD (CASP) KEY INDIVIDUAL CAPE TOWN

We are seeking a driven Compliance & Operations Lead (CASP) to join our mission to make crypto secure and accessible. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining our regulatory compliance under the FSCA's CASP license while supporting day-to-day legal and operational needs. You will also serve as a Key Individual to help safeguard our license and reputation.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Compliance & Key Individual Duties

• Act as Key Individual under the FSCA license and ensure CASP compliance.
• Lead internal AML / KYC processes, STR submissions, and risk reporting.
• Manage compliance policies, registers, and audit preparation.
• Serve as the primary liaison with FSCA and FIC.

Legal Support

• Review and manage basic legal agreements (NDAs, SLAs, client/vendor contracts).
• Support regulatory submissions and legal framework updates.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.

Operations Interface

• Coordinate crypto / fiat settlements, onboarding processes, and platform compliance features.
• Ensure operational controls are compliant and efficient.
• Work collaboratively with Tech, Product, and Finance teams.

Requirements :

• LLB (or compliance/legal diploma) with 3-6 years of legal, compliance, or regulatory experience.
• Experience in fintech, crypto, or financial services environments.
• Strong knowledge of FAIS, FIC, and POPIA regulations.
• Eligible to be appointed as a Key Individual under FSCA regulations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Education :

• LLB (or compliance/legal diploma) with 3-6 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, or regulation.
• Experience in fintech, crypto, or financial services sectors.
• Proficiency in FAIS, FIC, and POPIA regulations.
• Eligibility for Key Individual appointment under FSCA.
