The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for direct and / or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct and / or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for assessment and care as well as the needs of patients and will assist the scrub nurse during operations, ensuring the operating room remains sterile.

Experience in anaesthetics would be advantageous for this role.

Practice patient care according to scope of practice and assume responsibility for these activities.

Prepare the theatre, replenish stock, and manage instruments and supplies for procedures.

Contribute to holistic patient care.

Maintain aseptic techniques when opening packs and using consumables.

Control costs through safe and economical use of supplies and equipment.

Handle equipment, instruments, stock, and medication safely and competently.

Assist with patient positioning and transfers to ensure safety.

Communicate effectively with patients about their care.

Assist the anaesthetist during induction of anaesthesia.

Execute procedures according to hospital standards.

Develop appropriate nursing care plans for patients.

Communicate any health status changes to healthcare practitioners.

Ensure compliance with documentation policies.

Record and sign specimen registers.

Audit health records for compliance.

Manage stock effectively, ensuring proper charging and credits.

Maintain a safe, clean, and medico-legally compliant environment.

Follow safety regulations in accordance with relevant legislation.
