Job description

To provide quality medical laboratory services by performing routine analytical procedures, maintaining equipment, and controlling quality assurance within the sphere of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

1. Administer pre-analytical and post-analytical functions in accordance with service goals, with effective communication internally and externally.
2. Handle, manage, and complete tasks within targeted times, ensuring adherence to Test Turnaround Times (TATs).
3. Receive, distribute, and process samples according to SOPs, aiming to meet 95% of TAT performance.
4. Manage stock levels within agreed parameters and safety stock levels, ensuring all instrumentation has adequate stock for optimal performance.
5. Accurately process patient samples, including routine and urgent samples, ensuring workflow consistency and addressing inconsistencies promptly.
6. Engage with external clients/suppliers regarding analyzer breakdowns and failures.
7. Implement quality assurance by adhering to SANAS / ISO standards, completing all quality assurance tasks, and maintaining equipment accordingly.
8. Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance by enforcing safety rules, representing as an officer if required, and maintaining proper housekeeping and decontamination.
9. Manage pre- and post-analytical processes, including sorting and distributing samples, processing registration and queries, dispatching specimens, and monitoring report progress.
10. Handle client feedback and resolve queries within deadlines.
