Job Description

The role reports to the Regional CEO and is responsible for all aspects of finance across the companies within the Africa region.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading a capable finance team and ensuring the leadership team understands financial principles.
  2. Guaranteeing full compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations.
  3. Acting as a commercial business partner to the CEOs and management team to drive growth.
  4. Supporting the Group CFO and team to ensure compliance with Group policies and supporting Group goals.
Additional Responsibilities

Reporting: Ownership of internal and external reporting, including financial reporting supported by KPI drivers; regional FP&A and management of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning; interpretation and presentation of reports to key stakeholders.

Strategy: Collaborating with the Board and management to develop and execute financial, commercial, and operational strategies; providing financial insights; contributing to strategic development; creating strategies to manage costs; supporting Group objectives.

Compliance: Serving as a Company Director and Board Member; owning statutory matters; ensuring tax compliance; liaising with external auditors; maintaining internal controls.

Other: Overseeing finance functions and teams in Africa; managing cash, CAPEX, and treasury; implementing ERP and other systems; promoting efficiency and collaboration; handling ad hoc responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of local legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience as a CFO or senior finance leader, preferably in a PE-backed environment.
  • Experience managing external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of delivering value through strategic initiatives.
  • Hands-on approach with a positive attitude.
