Qualifications
- 2-3 years of import and export customs, international trade, and logistics administrative operational experience in the Automotive industry
- A Diploma or degree in International Trade, Logistics, or Equivalent
Responsibilities
- Capturing Customs entry data for drawbacks in a Ford tailored customs and incentives system, which requires a high degree of accuracy.
- Collect, review, and validate shipping import and export files and Customs entries for accuracy and compliance with regulations as part of internal post-entry reviews.
- Assist in ensuring that operations involving import and export of production parts, aftermarket parts, machinery parts, and vehicles comply with Customs rules and regulations.
- Support the customs manager in supply chains, logistics, and transportation functions related to customs issues and inquiries.
- Interact with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to facilitate import/export processes.
- Assist with customs registration applications and updates.
- Apply for import and export permits.
- Utilize spreadsheets and word processing tools for regular reporting.
- Work with the Customs manager to review, enhance, and implement customs compliance operational changes.
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent communication skills – fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office Excel and Word.
- Understanding of import and export requirements and customs procedures.
- Familiarity with common customs documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, transport documents, SAD500s).
- Introductory knowledge of HTS classification, country of origin, FTA eligibility, valuation, etc.
- Experience with bonded customs warehouse compliance is advantageous.
- Ability to interact with operational teams to understand policies, processes, and trade transactions independently.
