Job Description

We are seeking candidates based in Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town (Bellville).

Responsibilities

1. Clean up the site/workshop after tasks are completed or at the end of the day, ensuring it is free of all consumables used during the job (e.g., masking tapes, tins).
2. Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
3. Report any deviations, irregularities, and non-conformances orally.
4. Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager or regional manager.
5. Conduct all field and laboratory work, including sampling, calculations, and testing methods accurately.
6. Maintain discipline within the assigned department.

Compulsory Requirements

1. Experience in sampling and preparation (advantageous).
2. Fieldwork experience such as densities, layer/stockpile sampling, handling concrete cubes, DCP, Ring and Ball tests (road surfaces), sand patch, on-site viscosity tests, sampling of asphalt, seals, concrete/aggregate.
3. Ability to perform all related calculations.
4. Control laboratory activities like quality control under supervision.
5. Physically fit and willing to work with, move, and pick up samples as required.

Qualifications

1. Proficiency in English.
2. Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
3. NQF 4/Diploma in Civil Engineering.

• South African citizenship with a valid ID.
• Aged between 18-30.
• Currently unemployed.
• No criminal record.
• Willing to relocate to Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town (Bellville).
• Excellent computer skills, especially MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong data analysis and research skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
