Senior Structural Engineer

Well respected multi-disciplinary firm of consulting engineers is looking for Professional Senior Structural Engineer with experience in large scale property projects to join their team in Johannesburg or Durban.

POSITION INFO: Requirements:

1. Professionally Registered with ECSA
2. 8 or more years experience on structural engineering projects, ideally with experience in the healthcare and technology sectors.
3. Experience in managing and leading small to medium sized teams
4. Delivers own work, always in connection with other related work streams and broader goals of the group or project.
5. Ability to independently plan and manage client and external relationships.
6. Responsible for quality standards, legal and contractual aspects, commercial metrics, and client relations for the project.
7. Monitor and role-model client service standards for the project.
8. Resolving complex technical issues where there may not be an established precedent.
9. Sets culture of excellence, quality, accuracy, attention to detail.
10. Encourages and leads creative activities.
11. Committed to your own professional development and involved in the mentoring and development of junior staff.
12. Conversant with design codes and leading industry analysis and design software.
13. Experienced in leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects and working as part of a larger team, with good awareness of engineering design beyond your own discipline.
14. Strong commercial awareness and experience of predicting, planning and managing resource requirements to achieve financial targets and to meet deadlines.
15. Be able to quickly develop successful client and team relationships.
