ABOUT HILLSIDE:

Our Hillside Aluminium smelter in Richards Bay produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Shut Superintendent Maintenance Carbon, you will be responsible for the safe execution of the maintenance shuts.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  1. Provide inputs to and endorse maintenance plans, strategies, and programs;
  2. Develop and implement methods and procedures to ensure optimal performance of resources;
  3. Review maintenance reports and statistics to plan and recommend changes to maintenance activities;
  4. Accountable for risk assessments as required for conformance with operational standards;
  5. Responsible for the accurate preparation of capital and operating budgets;

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience within Maintenance in a manufacturing / heavy industrial environment, of which at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity is essential;
  2. Working experience with SAP is essential;
  3. 1-2 years experience required on effective planning, coordinating, and execution of maintenance shuts is essential;
  4. Ability to be structured and directive in leading large complex multi-team shutdowns in a highly pressured environment is essential;
  5. Must be technical and have a good understanding of systems and processes and comply with procedures is essential;
  6. Experience in an aluminium smelter is advantageous;
  7. Must have strong personal disciplines and a structured approach to problem solving is advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

  • Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
