Role Purpose / Business Unit

Help Vodacom become the preferred partner of all SME businesses in their digitalization and transformation journey by providing leadership and hands-on direction to a cross-functional team of Product, Customer Value Management, and Sales members to deliver relevant, market-leading propositions.

To support this, the role will shape the strategic direction across our enterprise and financial services units and drive initiatives to increase market share in mobile, beyond mobile, and financial services categories. The ideal candidate is customer-obsessed, commercially savvy, strategic, and effective in execution.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Market Research & Testing: Understand customer needs, preferences, pain points, and motivations; gather data on market trends, competitors, and industry dynamics; test propositions in the market; support market development and initial sales.
  2. Value Proposition Management: Design and implement propositions based on customer insights; ensure differentiation and benefits; grow market share by sub-segment; drive revenue and PNL targets; develop dashboards and intelligence practices.
  3. Product Rollout & Partnerships: Ensure successful SME product launches through partnerships; develop KPIs; manage sales and revenue across channels; embed propositions into sales plans.
  4. Market Development & GTM Strategy: Present to customers and partners; drive strategic deals; develop channel strategies; design campaigns to increase awareness and demand; negotiate marketing budgets.
  5. Stakeholder & Business Development: Build relationships internally and externally; collaborate across teams; manage key accounts; develop partnerships; lead negotiations for strategic deals.
  6. Leadership & People Management: Oversee team activities; support team success; develop skills; foster high performance; live the company's values; manage performance and grievances; motivate and recognize team efforts.
Candidate Profile

Requires a B Degree or equivalent in engineering, commerce, or business science; post-graduate qualifications are advantageous. Must have 7+ years in B2B business development, product management, or segment marketing, with ICT or financial services experience essential.

Technical skills include strategic thinking, solution selling, customer understanding, P&L management, and experience in multinational organizations. Behavioral competencies include customer focus, accountability, collaboration, resilience, flexibility, and people management skills.
