Our team consists of more than 100 actuarial professionals across 5 locations in Africa – Johannesburg, Cape Town, Mauritius, Nairobi, and Lagos.

Our actuarial consulting team offers a great opportunity to gain exposure across various technical actuarial areas and insurers in the South African and international markets. We value teamwork, proactivity, diversity, and inclusion. Our team thrives in a growth mindset environment and a collaborative culture. You will work with some of the most knowledgeable and committed actuarial professionals in the industry, who are also dynamic and creative. Our combined actuarial audit and consulting experience provides our team members with exceptional technical knowledge, supporting their success in actuarial exams and progression toward qualification.

Your key responsibilities

  2. Supporting the Head of Actuarial Function and potentially managing HAF engagements for life or non-life insurers and reinsurers
  3. Managing or supporting engagements related to ERM frameworks, ORSA, Risk Appetite, or other risk topics
  4. Managing or supporting value-adding projects such as IFRS17 implementation and other emerging actuarial topics
  5. Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues to develop our team
  6. Sharing knowledge and continually learning within the wider actuarial team

Most work will be project-based, either as a one-off or recurring, allowing collaboration with different team members and subject matter experts to gain invaluable experience and technical knowledge.

Skills and attributes for success
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Life or Non-Life Insurance industry
  • Preferably no more than 2 actuarial exams outstanding
  • Experience in financial reporting (SAM/Solvency II, IFRS, EV) is advantageous
  • A team player, proactive, and a self-starter
