Key Accountabilities
- Achieve set targets by client within the given portfolio.
- Identify and exploit new business opportunities.
- Develop tailor-made sales opportunities and deals.
- Prepare and negotiate all sales deals, including renewals and renegotiations, within governance parameters.
- Offer comprehensive solutions across all platforms to meet client needs.
- Package and sell sponsorable programmes on respective platforms.
- Educate clients regularly on all organisational platforms.
- Analyze the competitive market to identify revenue opportunities.
- Conduct needs analyses of clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities.
- Develop client briefs and produce relevant media solutions across platforms.
- Evaluate lost or dropped business to understand reasons and re-establish relationships.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all platforms to facilitate sales.
- Coordinate with Product Managers on sponsorship opportunities within programmes.
- Use sales management systems (e.g., CRM, SAP) accurately and consistently to manage sales processes.
- Prepare quarterly reviews and negotiation documentation based on client history.
- Plan and optimize client campaigns using industry-related planning and buying tools.
- Provide regular feedback to senior management and clients regarding progress and commitments.
- Update clients through proposals and presentations about new opportunities.
- Follow up on client correspondence and adhere to deadlines.
- Compile submissions and term sheets; manage the contract process.
- Maintain electronic contracts register and commitment records monthly.
- Ensure sound administration and produce weekly and monthly status reports.
- Conduct a minimum number of client visits as agreed with the line manager.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients.
- Provide after-sales service to ensure client satisfaction and foster future business.
- Prepare deal evaluations, business cases, and secure approvals.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant degree or diploma (NQF 6/7) in Sales, Communication, Marketing, or related fields.
- Additional training or certificates in media, digital, sales, or related areas are advantageous.
- 6-8 years of sales or sales management experience, preferably in media sales.
- Proven track record in media sales.
- Knowledge of integrated/digital sales solutions is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
- Experience in sales, retail, or business development roles.
