Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Journey:
- Adopt a customer-centric approach.
- Ensure customer service standards are rigorously applied.
- Attend to all customer service requests, promote products and services, and ensure VM standards are adhered to, including the execution of plans and promotions.
People Management (Assist Store Manager):
- Manage all staff-related aspects on an ongoing basis.
- Address employee shortcomings when necessary.
- Assist with recruitment according to company policies.
- Identify training and development initiatives for employees.
- Assist with performance management, focusing on talent management and succession planning.
- Lead and manage a team of employees.
Daily Operations, Stock & Risk Management:
- Open and lock the store following security procedures.
- Conduct start and end of day reporting.
- Handle administration tasks such as staff scheduling, invoicing, pricing, costs, floats, banking, expense control, and reconciliations.
- Ensure merchandise is offloaded, captured, packed, merchandised, and displayed per policy.
- Monitor merchandise quality and control soilage.
- Control shrinkage.
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Sales & Promotions:
- Promote sales to meet budgets and monitor sales, turnover, and participation.
- Conduct promotions.
- Implement markdowns and RTCs.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in a managerial clothing position or reliever experience for at least 6 months.
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams/Zoom.
- Willing to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, and participate in stock takes after hours.
- Willing to be moved between stores as needed.
- Able to undertake physical tasks.
- Complete an assessment.
