Job description

Main purpose of the role :

  • Responsible for managing and motivating all staff, ensuring high-quality standards, on-time delivery, and achievement of targets.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee the entire CMS Operation :

  • Manage client relationships while maintaining profitability and productivity.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor annual budgets; schedule expenditures; analyze and report on variances; take corrective actions.
  • Manage financial and administrative requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures and KPI measures.
  • Ensure rework campaigns, standardized fitments, and overall WIP management targets meet customer scope requirements.
  • Ensure operations adhere to SHEQ, ISO standards, 5S, and Gemba principles as high priorities.
  • Support BBBEE objectives in procurement and recruitment.
  • Manage workshop and in-plant equipment and storage yard maintenance.

2. Promote customer relations :

  • Maintain good relationships with external and internal customers; handle complaints.
  • Foster interdepartmental cooperation and synergies.
  • Participate in daily plant-level meetings with customer management.
  • Review fitment quality as per SOP.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor guidelines for customer satisfaction.
  • Assist Contracts Manager in growing the technical portfolio and identifying new business opportunities.

3. Manage staff effectively :

  • Plan and adjust staff workloads; assign daily tasks.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Ensure staff are trained appropriately.
  • Use performance management systems for staff appraisal, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Properly induct new staff on policies and procedures.
  • Monitor attendance and timekeeping.
  • Take corrective actions for policy non-compliance.
  • Promote a team environment of inclusivity and transparency.

Experience / Education :

  • Red Seal Artisan (Electronics or Mechanical) / Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; production experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels; aftermarket fitment knowledge preferred.
  • Proven project planning and execution skills.
  • Resource management experience with up to 80 employees.
  • Advanced computer skills (Full MS Office Suite).

Additional Duties :

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 standards.
