Job description

We require a detail-oriented individual with a great sense of care for people, animals, and property, respect for others, and a passion for getting things right, in the right way, to manage a Villa in Stellenbosch.

Purpose of the role :

The Villa Manager is responsible for the daily operations and ensuring guests have a wonderful stay. This includes overseeing housekeeping and staff, providing high-quality, tailored meals, and handling guest interactions. Your duties range from welcoming guests and administrative tasks to budgeting, meal planning, kitchen management (including food safety), and coordinating with other estate staff for a seamless guest experience. This is a live-in position.

Requirements :

Solid experience in a similar position dealing with high net worth clients.

Duties and Responsibilities :
  1. Plan, prepare, and cook meals for guests, owners, and staff, accommodating dietary preferences and requirements.
  2. Develop customized menus for various occasions
  3. Maintain an active list of private chefs for menu development and execution.
  4. Order fresh ingredients and ensure no shortages.
  5. Assist in planning and executing menus for special events.
  6. Maintain an up-to-date supplier/vendor list for all villa events.
  7. Ensure events run smoothly and within budget.
Administration :

Effective communication with HR, staff, and the General Manager to ensure proper management. Keep accurate records of wine sales, expenditures, and staff hours. Develop guest stay itineraries based on requirements. Track occupancy and act as a brand ambassador to promote wines.

Budgeting & Forecasting :

Prepare and analyze budget submissions, monitor expenses according to budgets and income per guest stay, and track all expenses.

Overall Guest Experience :

Ensure a pleasant experience for guests, assist as needed, ensure sufficient staff coverage during weekends and public holidays, run errands, maintain pools, ensure air conditioning functionality, act as host when requested, and ensure security measures like alarm activation are in place.

Staff Management :

Supervise and manage all villa employees, including housekeepers, groundskeepers, and security personnel.

Legislative Compliance :

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including annual servicing of fire extinguishers.
