Job description

Junior Quality Manager

Our client, a leading engineering firm specialising in plastic injection systems, is seeking to appoint a Junior Quality Manager at their plant in Epping, Cape Town. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager and/or Director.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that the Quality Control system within a specific department functions optimally. This includes implementing quality procedures and checks to meet production outcomes and quality standards of manufactured products.

This position focuses on a particular department and does not encompass the entire quality function within the organisation.

As this is a new position, the ideal candidate should be flexible and adaptable to change.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Managing the QC team, including identifying defects and potential quality issues.
  2. Handling quality administration tasks such as recordkeeping and reporting.
  3. Ensuring the optimal functioning of the Quality Control Systems.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Applicable quality degree, diploma, or certificate (some form of tertiary qualification is necessary).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to implement and monitor QC systems effectively.
  • Practical, systematic approach with good multi-tasking abilities.
  • Hands-on approach, including performing checks in the factory.
  • Good communication skills in English and Afrikaans, along with strong interpersonal skills.
