Job Opportunity: Junior Linux Systems Administrator

We are seeking a Junior Linux Systems Administrator to join our Systems Administrator team. This team specializes in troubleshooting and repairing issues on our large-scale Linux-based hosting systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot Linux systems in response to system alerts
2. Identify trends to enable proactive system improvements
3. Escalate issues and collaborate with Linux admin teams
4. Keep our contact centre updated to inform customers about issue statuses
5. Provide out-of-hours support
6. Participate actively in team continuous improvement initiatives

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Methodical and accurate approach
• Customer-centric mindset (though not customer-facing)
• Good communication skills
• Linux system troubleshooting expertise
• Shell scripting proficiency

Qualifications and Experience:

• Matric Pass or equivalent
