Job description

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a global leading supplier of equipment and tools, parts, service, and technical solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to actively promote or sell parts, tools, and services to support customers in alignment with their needs, as well as provide support to ensure minimal machine downtime by resolving machine emergency issues quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support customers with product information and resolve their queries in alignment with Sandvik processes and procedures.
  2. Actively promote or sell parts and services to support customers, including cold calling for customer retention and market share growth.
  3. Identify and follow up on sales opportunities or leads to convert quotations into sales and liaise with stakeholders to support customer needs.
  4. Process customer orders promptly, expedite, and follow through up to delivery.
  5. Answer calls within the prescribed service level.
  6. Maintain proactive call and follow-up activity, producing high output to reach sales targets.
  7. Provide backorder reports to customers and resolve system or order issues to aid customer planning.
  8. Report and escalate critical orders/inquiries to Logistics and Technical Solutions Providers, keeping customers informed of progress.
Your Profile
  • Relevant post-matric qualification is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of selling processes, tools, and techniques over electronic channels.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a customer call centre in a sales environment.
  • Understanding of tools and processes for selling over the phone.
  • High level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
  • Ability to positively influence stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills under tight deadlines.
  • Good time management and self-motivation with demonstrated initiative.
  • Adaptability to change and new systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, identify, and initiate solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license.
