Job Description

This vacancy is based in the SAT Finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager. The role involves managing products migrating onto the SAT platforms, overseeing ledger maintenance, reconciliations, internal reporting, and interactions with Segment finance teams and other stakeholders. The individual is responsible for achieving results through others over periods of 3 months to a year, focusing on governance, compliance, management dashboards, financial data interpretation, predictive results, and implementing accounting processes, systems, and controls for a product. The candidate should have a solid financial grounding.

The role includes delivering financial reporting and controls to internal stakeholders, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and managing control accounts.

Financial Analysis

  • Analyze business, financial, control, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide commentary on financial results and implications, advising on corrective actions.
  • Generate financial information.

Financial Control

  • Analyze and report on variances.
  • Ensure controls operate effectively.
  • Identify and investigate reconciling items.
  • Understand root causes and coordinate remedial actions.
  • Test and sign off on remedial actions before implementation.
  • Drive and ensure successful implementation within timelines.
  • Own key accounting processes and champion their improvement.
  • Review team work for control effectiveness.

Governance and Compliance

  • Maintain governance and compliance at operational levels.
  • Monitor and enhance internal controls.
  • Manage audit interactions and deliverables.

Management Reporting

  • Generate internal reports on controls and financial position.
  • Engage with business managers on financial outcomes.
  • Provide financial training and assistance to teams.
  • Support actuaries, auditors, and other parties with information.

Team Effectiveness

  • Manage and develop staff, ensuring delivery and performance.
  • Balance personal priorities with team motivation.
  • Create an environment for high performance.
  • Manage performance, plan, and assign work.
  • Select and develop staff to meet service standards.
