Job summary

A manufacturing company in Wadeville, Germiston is seeking a CNC Setter & Operator for a 1-year fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC Milling machines and Fanuc controls, ensuring quality and safety in operations. Responsibilities include setting up machines, performing inspections, and maintaining a clean workspace.

Job description

Manufacturing company based in Wadeville, Germiston has a 1 year FIXED TERM CONTRACT position for a CNC Setter & Operator - Milling machines with Fanuc Control experience.

POSITION INFO :

Minimum Requirements :

Matric / Grade 12

3 years experience working on CNC Milling machines

3 years experience working on Fanuc controls

3 years setting and operating CNC Milling machines

Must have experience using measuring equipment including Vernier Callipers, Micrometres, Square and Tape Measures

Must be able to read and understand machine drawings

Must be able to do own inspection of machines parts

Duties / Responsibilities :

Perform under the direction of the CNC Foreman

Warm up machines

Control cutting fluid and oil levels on machines

Ensure that machines and working area is kept clean

Load programs onto CNC machines

Alter and change program sizes, tool numbers, coordinate system and program if required

Setup tools and offsets as required to achieve drawing specifications

Load and unload jobs onto CNC machines manually or with a crane

Preform first off and in process inspection on all parts

Keep records of daily production and forward this information to the Machine Shop Foreman or Supervisor

Preform QA inspection on other products as required

Assist with all other tasks of CNC workshop. (Drilling, Cleaning, Packing, Inspection, moving of material, ….)

Initiate requisitions for consumables

Prepare components for outside machining / plating

Receive and check quality of components from outside machining, plating, or painting

Miscellaneous tasks as required from time to time

Work shifts as required on the flexible working time agreement

Safety :

Keep workplace clean and tidy

Always perform duties in a safe and responsible manner and wear protective equipment as provided

AUTHORITY

To stop CNC machines if quality is not to standard
