Our Administration Team has several vacancies for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to support hospital Admissions and Reception functions.

You will be a key member of the team, acting as the face of our hospital by managing all incoming patients and visitors, assisting with bookings, health fund estimations, admissions, and inquiries.

This role involves a variety of front and back-of-house administrative tasks on a Monday to Sunday roster across different shifts.

You will collaborate with the team and ward areas to ensure the best possible experience for patients and visitors.

About Newcastle Private Hospital

Join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189-bed acute private hospital located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park, with 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities of the Administration Officer include:
  1. Answering and redirecting calls
  2. Preparing admission paperwork
  3. Performing Health Fund Checks
  4. Managing collection of excesses/co-payments
  5. Coordinating with staff from other departments
  6. Completing clerical tasks such as data entry

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Medical or Hospital Administration
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early, late, and weekends
  • Authority to work in Australia
  • Valid NSW Working with Children check
Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
