Key Job Responsibilities

  • Sourcing of goods and services as per specified requirement using tactical sourcing method.
  • Following a three-quote system and an adjudication process for all purchases.
  • Converting purchase requisition to purchase orders, in line with procure to pay process.
  • Managing queries related to procure to pay process.
  • Ensure all outstanding orders are followed up on and closed off the system where applicable.
  • Executing end-to-end Open Tender and RFI processes.
  • Setting up Contracts /Service Level Agreements with selected suppliers and managing contract register accordingly.
  • Price adjustment implementation according to Komatsu policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining SAP pricing and sourcing master data according to the implemented sourcing strategies.
  • Implementing and improving sourcing strategies to ensure cost and continuous improvement.
  • Identifying savings opportunities and prepare monthly savings report.
  • Ensuring that the procurement of goods and services is consistent with the procurement policy and business requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with internal customers, external customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Implementing Localization Strategies and report to relevant internal and external structures on localization; and
  • Identifying process improvements and aligning processes with Procurement Policy.
  • Ensuring the procurement of goods and services is consistent with the procurement policy and business requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with internal customers, external customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Identifying process improvements and align processes with Procurement Policy and governance; and
  • Performing any other work delegated/assigned within Indirect Procurement and reporting as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Grade 12.
  • Must have a Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or at least NQF level 6 qualification.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in procurement of industrial commodities in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of vendor on-boarding procedures and material master data related requests.
  • Must have proven experience in executing projects as required and support internal customers.
  • Must have working knowledge of contracts, RFx and BBBEE.
  • Must have SAP R/3 experience; and be computer literate in MS Office suit. and
  • Must have driver’s license and own reliable transport.

  • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines, and
  • Must be willing to travel to different mine sites when required.
