Qualifications

Join to apply for the Maintenance & Project Planner role at Astral Foods Ltd. County Fair, a division of Astral Operations Limited, has this opportunity for a Maintenance & Project Planner based at County Fair within the Commercial Division in the Western Cape.

Purpose of the Position

To ensure the implementation, maintenance, and integrity of plant asset care management principles by effectively utilizing resources through daily planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance plans.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 with completed N6 / National Diploma / BTech Electrical / Mechanical
  • Trade-tested / qualified Artisan (Electrical or Mechanical)
Experience
  • 5 years post-trade experience and minimum 3 years planning experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Explorer & Outlook)
  • Experience with planned maintenance programs
Other Requirements
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Awareness of HACCP, 20 Keys, and other relevant computer programs
  • Problem-solving skills related to Microsoft systems, HACCP, and 20 Keys
  • Vigilance towards safety, health, and hygiene standards
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to assist Maintenance Manager and Engineer as required
Key Responsibilities
  1. Planning and scheduling maintenance, shutdowns, and projects
  2. Reviewing shutdowns and projects, participating in job observations
  3. Data analysis and reporting on asset management
  4. Identifying failure causes and risks, optimizing maintenance tasks
  5. Maintaining system integrity and auditing team usage
  6. Generating reports and analyzing maintenance costs and expenditure
  7. Logging modifications and generating CAPEX documents
  8. Conducting machine inspections and assisting with technical problems
  9. Supporting maintenance tasks over weekends when required
