Introduction
We are a leading freight and logistics company based in Gauteng and currently seeking an experienced Night Shift Fleet Controller. As a Fleet Controller, the functions include coordinating and controlling the quality of work activities and effectively managing the resources (people and equipment) in line with the business goals.

Ensure sound client relations are established and maintained.

Manage the financial performance of the business.

To be responsible for the business safety programs and ensure that the environment supports the safety of all employees.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Monitor costs by analysing cost allocation identifying discrepancies and implement cost saving strategies for fuel consumption, wages, tyre maintenance and fleet maintenance.
2. Provide input into the budget and forecast process.
3. Daily and Timely Scheduling of vehicles and drivers.
4. Brief and de-brief of drivers in accordance with the company protocol.
5. Tracking of vehicles and driver fatigue management.
6. Compile daily operational reports.
7. Ensure adherence to vehicle maintenance schedules.
8. Conduct vehicle and driver inspections weekly.
9. Ensure optimum vehicle utilization by managing vehicles in accordance with client volumes and forecasts.
10. Ensure sufficient resources are in place and available to achieve daily revenue targets.
11. Ensure vehicles are continuously tracked and deviations reported.
12. Ensure SLA conditions are met i.e availability of vehicles, delivery volumes, maintenance of product quality, time keeping and communication feedback.
13. Analyse operational information daily and follow up on discrepancies and/or solve problems.
14. Ensure accident and incident investigations are carried out timeously and or as per company procedures.
15. Conduct regular quality audits on business systems, processes and documentation within operation.
16. Complete required reports and attend meetings.
17. Manage performance of subordinates.
18. Ensure that all SHEQ and legislative requirements are always adhered to and take the necessary corrective action when needed.
19. Capturing of KPI's, Identify areas of Improvements and Improvement on KPI's / SLA.
20. Manage and ensure processing of all relevant administration/documentation is done in accordance to operational requirements.
21. Managing discipline in the work place as set out in the Company Code of Conduct including Remedial and Disciplinary action.
22. Provide on-job training and guidance to employees you supervise.
23. Maintain and update safety file.
24. Ensure all drivers and other employees you supervise trainings are up to date all the times.

Desired Experience & Qualification

1. Qualifications required: Grade 12. Transport and Logistics Management or relevant qualification.
2. Skills and experience required: 2-3 years' experience in a senior supervisor role within the Logistics industry.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to motivate and discipline people.
5. Effectively setting high operational standards and measurement of such standards.
6. A good knowledge of Logistics operational procedure and documentation.
7. Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
8. Must be prepared to work long hours and/or weekends.
9. Must have the ability to work under pressure.
