Job Description: SAP Systems Analyst
To manage interpretation, analysis, and investigations for application requirements and to turn those into business solutions using appropriate technology resources and proven methodologies.
Provide input into the development of procurement-Materials Management and Batch Management standard operating procedures as it relates to procurement systems.
KPA 1: System Solution Design and Configuration
- Manage system solution design and configuration in line with business processes.
- Translate business requirements into viable technical solutions based on requirements obtained from the business.
- Define and maintain technical requirements specifications for approval.
- Implement complex procurement solutions and present technical specifications for approval by the line manager.
- Ensure system data integrity to meet business information needs.
- Refine prototypes and obtain approval from the line manager.
- Identify, analyze, and present potential system enhancements for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with ABAP Developers to ensure solutions meet functional and technical requirements.
- Configure existing systems to accommodate new design changes.
- Test configurations and make refinements to ensure proper performance.
- Support testing processes for configuration changes.
- Contribute to project management as a project resource.
KPA 2: Manage System Changes
- Follow IT change management methodology for system updates.
- Develop technical specifications for system changes.
- Ensure backup plans are in place before implementing new functionalities.
- Develop test plans and implement system changes in the live environment.
- Coordinate with vendors and analysts for go-live activities.
- Monitor and test system upgrades and new functionalities.
KPA 3: Knowledge and Skills Transfer
- Provide ongoing knowledge transfer to IT stakeholders.
- Engage with industry groups to share skills and stay current.
- Act as subject matter expert for designated systems.
KPA 4: User Support
- Provide third-line support for incident management.
- Identify, track, and resolve system problems.
- Escalate issues as needed.
KPA 5: Security and Access Control
- Assist in ensuring appropriate system authorizations for users.
- Support SAP GRC and authorization configuration.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Diploma/Degree in IT or related Business Management field.
- NQF-rated Systems Analysis Certification.
- Project management foundation certification (advantage).
- Experience with SAP modules MM, SRM, Sourcing, and SLC (2 years if SAP certified).
- Experience interacting with senior stakeholders.
