We have an exciting position for a Mine Surveyor. You will be responsible to provide an efficient specialist surveying support service to the mine, supervisor and team to ensure that mining targets are achieved within legislative and statutory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
Presenting slope stability data in an accurate manner and ensure it’s available to the Geo-technical Section
Managing a safe and healthy work environment where workers and contractor can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment
Compiling reports on daily face advances, which includes any misfire scans and awareness
Ensuring quality engineering surveys are being done
Ensuring staking of blast blocks and geological boreholes as per requisition and according to survey Work Instructions
Installing bench elevation control as requested by production personnel to ensure required grade of pit benches (decline & incline haul roads)
Assisting Supervisor in compiling the month-end production report to ensure information is accurate and timeously distributed
Surveying face positions updates by means of scanner technology, by registering the data and through compiling a workable file in order for pit
DTM updates
Performing and execute surveying on construction and civil structures / projects according to the mine’s requirements
Executing production surveys according to short term production planning requests to achieve the long-term targets of the mine
Measuring all surface structures to update statutory plans, as well as for rehabilitation purposes
Doing adequate compliance and geotechnical scans
Job Requirements:
Lidar scanning experience advantageous
Valid driver’s License
B-Tech or B Degree in Mineral Resource management essential / or advantageous
Diploma in Surveying or Chamber of Mines Advanced Certificate in Surveying / or National Higher Diploma in Mineral Resource Management.
Advanced Computer Literacy I MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential)
Software skills – must be familiar with MicroStation
Remote Pilots License will be an added advantage
3 years open cast operational experience as a Surveyor in a Mining environment
