Job Title / Role : System Engineering Project Manager

Role Headline

Responsibilities of the Role:

  1. Clarifies customers' targets and requirements, and/or specifications in request for proposal (RFP).
  2. Prepares participation in tender and leads negotiations with customers both technically and commercially.
  3. Coordinates overall planning of the project and decides on resource allocation.
  4. Clarifies specifications and liaises with the internal Project Manager.
  5. Monitors milestones and adherence to budgets, initiating actions to minimize non-conformance costs.
  6. Maintains constant communication with customers, outside contractors, or other stakeholders.
  7. Leads the technical design of the system, including onsite installation and commissioning.
  8. Coordinates onsite commissioning measures with Site Engineering Management.
  9. Leads in hardware design and component integration.
  10. Involved with onsite commissioning activities.
  11. Ensures unified design between hardware, drawings, and software coding.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, preferably in instruments and controls.
  • Industry-recognized Project Management accreditation (SACPCMP Certification) preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the design (Electrical panel), construction, and operation of systems in an industrial environment.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex systems and solutions, including engineering and construction work.
  • Ability to work independently, making decisions and taking actions.
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial control systems using Siemens products, drives, and switchgear, including selection, design, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with NEC 3, FIDIC, and JBCC contract management is advantageous.
  • Cross-border experience in Africa is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and E-plan is advantageous.
