Job description

A Bartender's primary responsibility is to exceed all expectations of internal and external guests by facilitating an excellent guest experience in the outlet, ensuring exceptional products and services at all times.

Specific duties, responsibilities & key performance areas

  • Demonstrates brand standards in all interactions.
  • Mixes and prepares a wide range of beverage items.
  • Greets all guests and colleagues warmly and sincerely, maintaining a positive attitude to foster team spirit.
  • Ensures all guests leave with a lasting positive impression of the outlet.
  • Be punctual, efficient, courteous, and helpful to each guest.
  • Maintain pride in personal appearance and hygiene, ensuring uniform and shoes are of the highest standard.
  • Have a genuine desire to provide an unparalleled guest experience.
  • Handle guest feedback appropriately, aiming for complete satisfaction, and escalate issues to supervisors or managers when necessary.
  • Check and set up the bar and equipment, place bottles correctly, and prepare mise en place for the shift.
  • Report for duty punctually in full uniform, adhering to appearance and grooming standards.
  • Understand and follow restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards as outlined in brand standards.
  • Make and serve drinks in accordance with liquor laws.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work and dining environment.
  • Have full knowledge of the restaurant's available menus.
  • Be aware of safety protocols in the bar, including fire, hygiene, and safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, complete nightly and monthly counts.
  • Order stock and control par stock levels.
  • Follow licensing hours and laws strictly.
  • Monitor freezers and refrigerators; report issues to technical services.
  • Control wastage and breakage to minimize costs.
  • Read notice boards and logbooks daily.
  • Identify and participate in scheduled training sessions.
  • Perform occasional duties or projects assigned by the Outlet Manager or Food & Beverage Directors.
  • Follow occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Report suspicious persons, parcels, or behaviors to security.
  • Adhere to the Charter of Ethics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
