Job description

Introduction

Mintek has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technician: Instruments Implementation who will be responsible for performing assembly, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced process measurement instruments at plants worldwide.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Manufacture and commission at least two main instruments independently.
  • Introduce new ideas based on client requests for product development.
  • Assist the development team with the aim of becoming a product owner (commercialisation).
  • Complete projects within the planned budget and schedule.
  • Support sales to achieve commercial targets for the division/group.
  • Assemble, test, and calibrate advanced process measurement instruments.
  • Install, commission, and maintain advanced process measurement instruments using established procedures locally and internationally.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as completing business trip and project administration.
  • Examine electrical and electronic problems, identify sources, and determine repair methods using circuit diagrams.
  • Test equipment locally or at client sites.
  • Be available for standby, call after hours, weekends, and during recesses on a rotational basis.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, promote workplace improvement, and adhere to SHEQ requirements.
  • Assist with safety inspections and comply with client SHEQ procedures.
  • Be a product expert/owner for at least one product line.
  • Drive continuous technical and cost improvements in all known products.
  • Support R&D with technical expertise in product development.
  • Prepare and contribute to proposals, including Open Call proposals.
Desired Experience & Qualifications

Job Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 3 years' experience in manufacturing and commissioning at least 3 instruments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Share expertise through training of new personnel, WILs, or interns.
  • Knowledge of PC board design, manufacturing testing, and setup is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of PLC setup and programming is advantageous.
  • Experience with assembly and onsite commissioning of online analysis equipment, specifically with Mintek Cynoprobe and C2 Meter, or similar products.

Qualifications:

  • B Tech/Advanced Diploma in Electronic Engineering or relevant field.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage relationships with staff, suppliers, vendors, clients, and collaborators at a technical level.

Salary Package: Negotiable
