Cost Estimator - Construction

Our client, a construction company, is seeking to employ an Estimator.

The role involves preparing tender documents by analyzing all relevant information, including detailed analysis, pricing the bill of quantities, and assessing risks prior to submission. The Estimator's responsibilities include but are not limited to analyzing information, estimating costs, planning, reporting research results, and strategic planning, with an emphasis on attention to detail, communication, and requirement analysis.

The following list of main objectives, key performance areas, and job activities are not exhaustive. The executive director may instruct the employee to undertake additional duties or responsibilities as needed for operational purposes.

Estimator Job Duties
  1. Prepares work estimates by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  2. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by thoroughly studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  3. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  4. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  5. Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  6. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  7. Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
  8. Maintains technical knowledge through continuous development and research.
  9. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
