We are currently seeking a SQL DBA to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nādu (IN-TN), India (IN).

Position Overview

The SQL Server Database Admin will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, ensuring the availability and consistent performance of our client applications. This is a hands-on role requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage SQL Server databases across multiple environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  2. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  3. Perform database performance tuning.
  4. Plan, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot high-availability database environments (Always-On, Clustering, Mirroring, etc.).
  5. Analyze, resolve, and correct issues in real time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
  6. Automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes for efficiency and cost optimization.
  7. Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  8. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities outside regular hours.
  9. Share domain and technical expertise, providing mentorship and cross-training to peers and team members.
  10. Collaborate directly with end customers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL Server administration in an enterprise environment with multiple database servers.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
  • Experience with Windows Server, including Active Directory.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing environments.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Foundation in ITIL, Continual Service Improvement, and Total Quality Management.
Nice to Have
  • Scripting experience.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL.
  • Support of logical DBA activities.
  • Expertise in complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Certifications like MCTS, MCITP, MVP are a plus.
Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
