Job description

Overview : To service, repair, and maintain vehicles, LDVs, and trucks.

POSITION : DIESEL MECHANIC

Duties :

1. Receive the workshop job card and verify its content for accuracy and understanding.
2. Attend to both office hour and after-hour breakdowns.
3. Sign off on job cards after completion.
4. Ensure all parts and oils used are recorded on the job card.
5. Perform maintenance services according to manufacturer’s specifications and scheduled maintenance.
6. Conduct visual inspections, calibration, adjustments, and other related tasks.
7. Identify deviations, irregularities, and unusual wear; report to Workshop Foreman.
8. Inspect disassembled parts and replace with new or reconditioned parts as needed.
9. Return and document old or unusable parts.
10. Assess the vehicle's condition against production standards and evaluate its technical state.
11. Perform final checks to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and reliable.
12. Adhere to dress code as per company SOPs.
13. Maintain health and safety standards at all times.

Requirements :

1. Grade 12 education.
2. Trade-tested Automotive Diesel Mechanic.
3. Valid Code C (10) or EC (14) driver’s license.
4. Minimum of 3 years post-trade test experience.
