Introduction

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer with a passion for renewable energy? We are currently seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking civil engineering team based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will bring strong civil design expertise and hands-on experience delivering solar, wind, or other green energy infrastructure projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the civil engineering design and execution for renewable energy projects, including solar farms, wind energy infrastructure, and related developments.

Prepare detailed engineering reports, designs, specifications, and construction documentation.

Provide technical expertise and guidance across project teams to ensure timely, quality, and budget-aligned delivery.

Collaborate across disciplines including environmental, structural, and project management teams.

Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and offer engineering recommendations.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure full code and legal compliance.

Oversee project timelines and resource management.

Perform quality checks and continuous improvement evaluations throughout project lifecycles.

Mentor and support junior engineers and design staff.

Apply advanced Civil 3D modeling skills to deliver accurate and efficient design solutions.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.Eng/B.Sc or equivalent).

3 - 5 years' experience in civil engineering, with proven project delivery in renewable energy (solar, wind, or hybrid systems).

ECSA Registration (Professional Engineer or Technologist) preferred.

Expert-level proficiency in Civil 3D for modeling and design.

Solid experience with stormwater, hydraulics, pavement design, soil mechanics, and site development.

Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability principles in engineering.

Ability to solve problems creatively while maintaining project efficiency and compliance.

Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – for client interaction and reporting.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for site visits and meetings.
