Job description

Job Summary
The Liability Specialist is responsible for managing various aspects of the medical file review and scheduling process. They will review completed referrals to ensure client questions have been addressed appropriately and review reports for accuracy, ensuring compliance with client and department standards. This role requires specialized knowledge of liability IME and involves independent management of all operations related to the liability IME process.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Handling Receipt of New Cases: Intake new cases, review and verify information, draft cases in the Dane Street system (AccessDS), collaborate with clients on missing information, and organize medical documents as required.
  2. Assignment of Cases: Assign and schedule cases to physicians based on location, availability, guidelines, jurisdiction, and client requirements, ensuring no conflicts of interest.
  3. Oversight of Cases: Monitor, process, and track cases to meet deadlines.
  4. Quality Audits: Review reports for completeness and accuracy, follow up with reviewers and clients for clarifications, update clients on progress, ensure reports are grammatically correct and adhere to QA checklists, and format reports for approval.
  5. Communication: Maintain clear, concise communication with customers, reviewers, and operations team. Confidently discuss case content with physicians and clients, update on case status, and ensure proper documentation.
  6. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Business experience in healthcare and/or insurance settings preferred.
  • Experience with technology-based processes in a business environment.

  • Exceptional communication skills and understanding of company operations.
  • Critical thinking, time management, and meeting deadlines.
  • Computer literacy and typing skills.
Working Conditions

Includes lifting, bending, traveling, long periods of sitting and computer work. Must support own internet connection and maintain uninterrupted service for remote work.
