Job Purpose

To perform skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and inspection work on complex refrigeration equipment, fire defence systems, facility maintenance, racking systems, standby power generators, and electrical switchgear.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, Maintenance, and Repair

Install refrigeration systems and equipment.

Inspect systems to ensure safety and identify repairs, implementing preventive maintenance.

Diagnose issues and perform repairs or replacements as needed.

Conduct routine checks, test components, and perform leak tests.

Prepare documentation for regulatory compliance and internal records.

Maintain fire defence systems, standby generators, and electrical switchgear.

Coordinate with management and team members to complete work efficiently.

Respond to emergency situations and transport necessary materials.

Dismantle, analyze, and test malfunctioning systems.

Implementation of SHEQ

Follow health and safety procedures.

Ensure documentation compliance within TIMS.

Stock Control

Requisition spares and manage inventory.

Team Guidance

Guide, train, and coordinate technical assistants and handymen.

Self-Management and Teamwork

Take ownership of tasks, plan and prioritize effectively.

Maintain quality and productivity standards.

Communicate effectively about progress and risks.

Support team members and demonstrate willingness to assist.

Qualifications and Experience

Valid Code EB driver's license.

Matric with an approved apprenticeship in industrial refrigeration.

At least 3 years' experience in industrial / truck refrigeration maintenance and repair.
