Job description

A leading South African online retailer is seeking a highly talented CRM Analyst to join our team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Evaluating the effectiveness of CRM campaigns across channels (email, push notifications, in-app notifications, etc.)
  2. Identifying trends, patterns, and insights from CRM data to optimize campaign performance and ROI
  3. Building reports and dashboards to measure customer value, including Customer Lifetime Value, Retention Rate, Churn Rate, and Cross-Sell / Up-Sell Rate
  4. Monitoring key performance metrics like revenue, engagement, acquisition, retention, and churn rates
  5. Generating regular reports and dashboards for stakeholders and management
  6. Performing root cause analyses for performance shortfalls
  7. Conducting ad-hoc analyses for business questions
  8. Identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization
  9. Working with CRM teams on A/B testing and result analysis
  10. Collaborating with marketing to develop insights and strategies
  11. Aligning CRM initiatives with business objectives across teams
  12. Segmenting customer data for personalized campaigns
  13. Ensuring data accuracy and completeness
  14. Providing data-driven insights for strategic decisions
Attributes required:
  • Analytical, data-driven, strategic and tactical thinking
  • Strong commercial insights and customer behavior modeling
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior management
  • Self-motivated, curious, and passionate about data
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • High energy, solutions-oriented attitude, and strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and a passion for the brand and customers
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Honours degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or Marketing
  • At least 5 years of experience in CRM/data analysis or similar roles
  • Experience with CRM data and campaign evaluation
  • Retail/e-commerce experience is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, BigQuery, Looker, Analytics, R, or Python
  • Experience with CRM platforms like Braze is advantageous
  • Presentation experience to Exco/Senior Management
  • Knowledge of machine learning, predictive modeling, segmentation techniques (e.g., RFM), and marketing principles is advantageous
