We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead expansion efforts across South Africa.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Sales and Marketing, with specific exposure to the personal selling process and a solid understanding of B2B (Business-to-Business) environments.
This role is key to expanding the company’s market share and securing new business through strategic engagement, lead generation, and relationship management.

Minimum requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ business-to-business (B2B) marketing and sales experience within the engineering sector.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales growth, and client relationship management.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Market Research and Opportunity Identification:
    • Conduct in-depth research to identify market trends, competitor activities, and emerging product opportunities.


  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM):
    • Maintain and update customer data in the CRM system to ensure accurate record-keeping and engagement tracking.


  • Strategic Business Development:
    • Implement and drive business development initiatives in alignment with the company’s marketing plan and corporate objectives.


  • Client Engagement and RFQs:
    • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, securing Requests for Quotations (RFQs) through proactive engagement.


  • Tender Conversion and Sales Growth:
    • Assist in converting high-priority tenders ("Top Tenders") into confirmed Sales Orders through strategic follow-ups, bid management, and relationship-building.


  • Marketing and Brand Positioning:
    • Oversee the development and publication of marketing materials to support promotional efforts and align with marketing strategies.


  • Internal Communication and Reporting:
    • Ensure effective internal communication with management to keep them informed about progress on business development activities.


  • Digital Marketing and Social Media Management:
    • Manage company social media platforms and digital publications to enhance brand visibility and engagement.


  • Travel and Client Interaction:
    • Be willing and available to travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and drive sales initiatives.
