Job description

Our esteemed client in the Western Cape is searching for a well experienced IT Engineer on a 6 month contract that fits the below spec like a glove. The successful candidate must be based in CT.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with level 2-4 technical support queries and escalations. Server management and network maintenance.

Provide training and upskilling in various IT applications while leveraging the newest technologies to optimize the clients system. Have the ability to driving technological innovation and empowering the workforce to harness the full potential of IT applications.

Requirements:

• Experience and be in possession of a relevant qualification or degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology and have a minimum of 5 years’ applicable work experience.
• Microsoft certification (MCSA, MCSE and MCITP)
• 5 years’ experience in IT Enterprise infrastructure.
• Knowledge of South African IT legislation.
• Have a proven record of experience in a technically suitable IT related field.
• Knowledge of Hyper-Converged technologies.
• 5 years’ experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365 Apps and Microsoft Azure
• 5 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL, MySQL
• 5 years’ experience with Video Conferencing systems, including Microsoft Teams Rooms.
• 1+ years’ experience with ITIL Frameworks
• 1+ years’ experience with Cybersecurity frameworks.
• 1+ years’ experience as a CRM administration/coordinator or similar role.
• 5 years’ experience with networking technologies such asSD-WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANS, Firewalls, MPLS, Internet
• Knowledge of domain management and websites.
• Knowledge of current ICT technologies and trends.
• Strong understanding of permissions in SharePoint online, Active Directory and Linux libraries
• Ability to travel daily to the office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the stability and reliability of IT operations by continuously monitoring and maintaining all IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, websites, networks, security systems, data centres, communication systems, and servers.
• Manage the on-premises Active Directory, Office365 and Azure environments.
• Manage and install Virtual Servers (C)
• Backup and restoration troubleshooting and management.
• Manage the on-premises Exchange in the current Hybrid Environment.
• Manage and report on Mimecast Email environment.
• Documents about network problems and resolutions for future reference.
• Resolution and work order tracking using IT help desk system.
• Troubleshoot system accounts and passwords related issues in active directory, Office 365 email exchange, Microsoft Teams phone system and related applications and services.
• Troubleshoot network issues related to the LAN, WIFI, MPLS and Internet
• Troubleshoot front-end application issues.
• Install and maintain PC hardware and software to allow users to access the network.
• Proficiency with antivirus & spyware solutions, backup and disaster recovery applications, network security systems.
• Record, document and track the movement of ICT assets.
• Provide training and upskilling in various IT applications.
• Report on and perform other duties as may be assigned by ICT Manager.
• Provide reports for all infrastructure-related systems
