Cost and Management Accountant Contractual FTC

Our client based in Midrand is conducting a recruitment drive for a Cost & Management Accountant to join their financial department on a 3-month FTC.

Our client is a leading contract manufacturing partner in home and personal care, dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

This role is crucial in analyzing production costs, enhancing financial efficiency, and implementing effective cost controls to drive profitability.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Cost & Financial Analysis
2. Develop and maintain accurate costing models for raw materials, labor, and overhead
3. Monitor and analyze cost variances, identifying areas for cost savings
4. Implement standard costing systems and conduct variance analysis
5. Provide profitability insights for different product lines and customer contracts
6. Track and analyze product costs weekly for operational visibility
7. Budgeting & Forecasting:
8. Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts
9. Conduct variance analysis and ensure accuracy in cost estimations
10. Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making
11. Financial & Management Reporting:
12. Prepare cost reports, budget comparisons, and margin analysis
13. Develop dashboards and KPIs to track financial and operational performance
14. Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and reporting
15. ERP & Process Optimization:
16. Support ERP system implementation and optimization for cost and inventory management
17. Identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements
18. Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to enhance cost efficiency
19. Compliance and Risk Management:
20. Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies
21. Participate in internal and external audits by providing cost and financial data

Education & Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CIMA, SAICA, SAIPA, or ACCA qualification (essential)
• At least 5 years of experience in cost and management accounting, with 3 years in a manufacturing/FMCG environment
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, cost accounting principles, and financial modeling

• Proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis tools
• Detail-oriented with strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Proactive in identifying cost-saving opportunities
