A leading financial institution in South Africa is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to support procurement and regulatory services for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role involves ensuring effective contracting and collaboration with the Supply Chain Management unit, contributing to the success of the Infrastructure Fund.
The Infrastructure Fund (IF), announced by the President in September, aims to establish a dedicated blended financing facility for infrastructure projects.
The IF seeks to transform public infrastructure funding through 'blended' finance—combining capital from the public sector, private sector, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).
This fund is dedicated to meeting the financing needs of hybrid projects.
The mandate of the Infrastructure Fund is documented in a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the National Treasury, Infrastructure South Africa (ISA), and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), signed on 17 August.
The role of the Senior Procurement Specialist within the IF is to provide procurement and regulatory support services.
This ensures effective contracting across the entire procurement process for large-scale infrastructure projects and programmes managed by the IF.
Additionally, the Senior Procurement Specialist will serve as the primary interface with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) unit of the DBSA.
