Role Purpose / Business Unit :

To drive revenue and customer growth through the usage of Vodacom's Products and Services across the unbranded channels within a geographical area. Manage and maintain the relationship with respective trade and channel partners, the internal organisation, and suppliers.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
  • Manage the unbranded channel stores (NC / WH / AD's / Informal stores) within a geographical location
  • First line escalation from trade partners (customer queries) – ECLO
  • Manage field marketing agency ensuring operational compliance and excellence – retail pricing, reporting, stock availability, deals, campaigns & branding
  • Achieve sales and customer service targets aligned with regional strategy
  • Build relationships with national chains, wholesalers, alternative distributors, and informal trade partners
  • Identify partnerships to increase brand and product awareness
  • Implement distribution strategies within Unbranded Channels
Key Responsibilities :
  • Implement the Unbranded Channel strategy for maximum sales and exposure
  • Focus on unbranded channels including National Chains, Wholesalers, Distributors, spazas, traders, street hawkers, mainly in informal markets
  • Establish relationships with informal traders and spaza operators to understand consumer trends
  • Ensure new products/services are implemented and opportunities for awareness are identified
  • Report monthly on activities, findings, and areas for improvement
  • Plan store visits and partnership meetings monthly
  • Manage KPIs such as revenue, customer base, market share, and usage
  • Manage relationships with trade partners to drive acquisition, retention, and customer experience
  • Identify opportunities to maximize profitability and coordinate promotions with marketing
  • Drive gross adds and VABS efficiencies in the unbranded channel
  • Recruit new business partners to increase distribution coverage
  • Manage recovery plans for underperforming stores and towns
  • Oversee third-party relationships, sales strategies, and projects
  • Monitor competitors and develop activity plans to close gaps
  • Transfer knowledge to store staff and implement people transformation initiatives
  • Address regional customer issues and provide feedback
The ideal candidate for this role will have :
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • 3-year diploma or degree in marketing/sales (NQF 6 or higher)
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Experience in small business development, marketing, or sales
  • Experience in retail or business environment, project management, stakeholder management (advantageous)
  • Telecommunications industry experience (advantageous)
  • Driver's License EBO and own vehicle
