Why this role matters

As a Delivery Lead in Deloitte's AI & Data business, you will oversee the end-to-end execution of high-impact data and AI engagements, ensuring delivery excellence while expanding commercial value through client farming, cross-sell, and up-sell strategies.

You will be fluent in execution, client engagement, value realization, and trusted advisory, bringing senior leadership discipline and business-building instincts.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead cross-functional teams in delivering AI and data transformation programs from initiation to impact realization.
2. Serve as the single point of accountability for multi-million-rand client engagements in AI and Data.
3. Drive delivery rigor, governance, quality assurance, and operational excellence according to tier-1 consulting standards.
4. Translate client objectives into structured delivery roadmaps with measurable outcomes.
5. Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders (CIO, CDO, CFO, COO, CHRO, and Business Unit Heads).
6. Identify unmet needs and whitespace opportunities within existing accounts.
7. Support cross-sell and up-sell initiatives with sales and solution teams, expanding engagement scope.
8. Attract, coach, and develop high-performing AI, data, and program delivery teams across onshore and offshore models.
9. Mentor delivery managers, architects, and consultants on high-stakes projects.
10. Ensure alignment between delivery, sales, and operational teams to maximize client value.

• Experience leading delivery teams in offshore/onshore models.
• Expertise in expanding client engagement through cross-sell and up-sell strategies.
• Strong storytelling, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate technical AI solutions into business outcomes and ROI.
• Experience at Tier-1 consulting firms, hyperscalers, or AI scale-ups is preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM, pipeline management, forecasting, and deal governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related fields.
• Advanced degrees (MBA, MSc, PhD, DBA) preferred.
• Technical certifications in cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) or data platforms are advantageous.
• Project Management certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of consulting delivery methodologies highly valued.
