Transport Controller & Truck Mechanic (Night Shift)

Our client, a blue chip Logistics company based in Wadeville (East Rand), has the following permanent vacancy:

Requirements:

1. Grade 12
2. Must be a SA Citizen
3. Mechanical / Technical background (no official qualification required, but any qualification will be an advantage)

Note:

• We are not looking for a qualified mechanic.
• Must be able to work on Trucks & Trailers.
• This is not an office-bound position.
• Responsible for light mechanical duties, giving instructions, and following up on night shift drivers loading vehicles and updating customer groups during this period.
• Required to complete the company's POD documentation.
• Assist the Compliance department with some of their functions.
• Stock control – maintain minimum stock on site.
• Must have own reliable transport.

Working hours:

• Night shift hours: 17:00 – 05:00, Monday to Thursday & Friday 17:00 – 00:00.
• Every second weekend work from 17:00 until 23:00 (Saturday & Sunday); rest of the time on standby via telephone.
