The General Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing Warehouse Operations, Inventory, Transport Operations, and Customer Service within their region.
They are accountable for ensuring driver health and safety and fostering a conscious food culture.
The role involves building and monitoring operational capacity and processes to guarantee the sustainability of Distribution Centre operations, maintaining appropriate costs and quality standards.
Key Functional Responsibilities: Warehouse, Inventory & Transport Management, Customer Service, Continuous Improvement, Reporting, Costs and Budgeting, Master Delivery Schedule, Risk, People Management. The list is not exhaustive; additional subsidiary tasks may be required, which will be within the employee's training, experience, or occupational capabilities, without loss of remuneration or status.
Experience Required: 8-12 years in Senior Distribution Centre Operational Management within Warehousing & Distribution, Transport, FMCG, QRS, or similar industries.
Work Experience: Senior Operational Management including Warehouse, Inventory, Transport, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Shift, Health & Safety, Facility & Asset Management, Contingency Planning, Continuous Improvement, Multi-temperature Stock Management, Multi-site and Multi-cultural Organization Management, Strategy Formulation and Execution, People Management, Performance and Attendance Management, Disciplinary Processes, Unionized Workforce Management, Culture Development, Organizational Planning, and Change Management.
Qualifications: Grade 12, relevant tertiary degree or Honours in Business/Supply Chain Management; MBA is advantageous.
Computer Literacy: MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Projects, Word, Outlook), Advanced MS Excel, Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Microsoft Great Plains accounting software.
