The incumbent will be appointed on a permanent basis.

The position is based in Tzaneen.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Train, supervise, and guide Candidate Attorneys.
  2. Coordinate legal training at the office.
  3. Provide individual mentoring and coaching for Legal Practitioners and Candidate Attorneys.
  4. Assess the quality of files and work performed by Candidate Attorneys and Legal Practitioners daily.
  5. Assist the Head of Office with quality assessments.
  6. Monitor case flow management of Legal Practitioners, Candidate Attorneys, and Judicare practitioners at court.
  7. Assess the quality of Judicare work.
  8. Monitor and assess the quality of work performed by Co-operation Partners.
  9. Provide legal representation in civil matters.
  10. Ensure the law library at the office is up-to-date and adequate.
Required Competencies
  • Proven experience with a BProc or LLB degree.
  • Admitted attorney with at least seven years' post-admission legal experience.
  • Experience as a Senior Legal Practitioner or equivalent is preferable.
  • Legal Quality Assurance score of not less than 90%.
  • Ability to mentor and supervise.
  • Strong legal representation and litigation skills.
  • Human rights orientation.
  • Commitment to professionalism and service excellence.
  • A valid code 08 driver's license is compulsory.
  • Strong research capabilities.

Remuneration

Salary Package: SU – 1 R,000.00 all-inclusive per annum.
