Job description

Millwright - Pinetown

Millwright – FTC Pinetown Durban

Salary: Market Related

Purpose of Position: Complement Recruitment is recruiting for a Millwright for a 6-month fixed-term contract role, based in Pinetown, Durban.

This position requires the applicant to assist the maintenance department on various plants based in Durban.

Applicants must be able to start immediately, from 1 June.

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Able to start immediately – 6 Month Fixed Contract
  2. N3 Trade Tested Millwright
  3. Computer Literate
  4. Drivers License
  5. Must have worked on gearboxes, pumps, mechanical seals, bearings, 3 phase electrical motors and lighting (industrial) with an understanding of boilers and air compressors.
  6. Must have good technical root cause analysis skills, incident reporting and safety procedures.
  7. ISO, Health & Safety knowledge, compliance with company procedures / processes.
Duties:
  1. Carry out all instructions as given by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  2. Assemble, install, test and maintain all mechanical and electrical equipment.
  3. Maintain and repair plant equipment, including troubleshooting and services or maintenance to ensure optimal reliability and availability to the sites.
  4. Conduct fault finding and analysis of machine conditions and failures.
  5. Provide technical and specialist support.
  6. Inspect and test equipment as per schedule.
  7. Optimize machines with active approach towards continuous improvement.
  8. Handle maintenance planning, breakdowns and manage quality of a manufacturing production plant.
  9. Ensure all procedures related to plant modifications are fully documented.
  10. ISO, OHS, HIRA, Health & Safety procedures are complied with at all times.
  11. Complete job cards and update records.
  12. Perform root cause analysis, clarification and fabrication or modifications to equipment.
  13. Maintain electrical and mechanical systems in production facilities.
  14. Ensure high standards of housekeeping at all times.
  15. Maintain safe working conditions.
  16. Perform standby duties as and when required.
