Introduction

To support our expanding operations, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Developer to join our team.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Assist and drive sales by introducing new clients/companies to our business.
  2. Seek new business opportunities using all available sales prospecting tools.
  3. Update daily orders list, back-order file, and load sales daily.
  4. Update customers on collection dates for orders received or placed, and communicate any delays.
  5. Perform administrative and ad-hoc tasks.
  6. Manage distributions to customers, check pricing, and ensure on-time delivery.
  7. Handle invoicing for customers.
  8. Verify details against order forms to ensure all required technical data is available.
  9. Process payments, purchase orders, and follow up on debtors.
  10. Continuously improve knowledge of the trade, industry, and business sector.
  11. Close deals of medium to high value.
  12. Quote clients according to requests and invoice customers.
  13. Attend project and tender inquiries.
  14. Create strategic sales plans to expand the customer base.
  15. Find ways to improve customer service quality.
Marketing
  1. Advise on potential marketing campaigns and participate in marketing strategies and ideas to promote the business.
  2. Assist with marketing events and represent the company at shows, events, and seminars.
  3. Assist with company profile and presentation development.
Technical Support
  1. Assist and advise clients on technical aspects of the product range and recommend suitable products based on client needs.
  2. Explain warranties and terms & conditions fully to clients.
  3. Assist with customer complaints and issues.
Management & Reporting
  1. Provide daily updates on activities and compile monthly sales reports.
  2. Build and motivate the sales team.
  3. Brainstorm with the sales team to target potential projects.
  4. Assist sales team with client visits and presentations.
  5. Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  6. Track and evaluate sales figures.
  7. Regularly train and recruit sales consultants.
Training & Development
  1. Identify knowledge gaps and provide product training.
  2. Address reasons for sales declines and develop solutions to increase sales.
Budget Planning
  1. Develop sales budgets for expos, marketing merchandise, functions, and brand exposure activities.
