Salary: R18000 per month, Live Out, Permanent Position

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Manager for a luxury boutique hotel based in Potchefstroom. This role requires a passionate and service-driven individual who can lead the restaurant team, ensure operational excellence, and deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, including front-of-house staff management and guest relations
  2. Handle bookings for restaurant tables, events, and functions
  3. Process payments when required and perform daily cash-ups
  4. Ensure restaurant cleanliness and report any maintenance issues promptly
  5. Coordinate staff rosters and manage waitress and barman schedules
  6. Interpret financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting
  7. Promote chef specials and interact with guests to ensure satisfaction
  8. Address customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally
  9. Conduct regular inventory audits and manage supply ordering
  10. Ensure staff adherence to service standards and restaurant protocols
  11. Assist with admin duties in the absence of the Restaurant Receptionist
  12. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
  13. Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance regularly
  14. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
  15. Implement strategies to improve efficiency and maximize profitability
  16. Maintain strong communication with hotel management and relevant departments
  17. Promote a clean and organized work environment

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 5 years experience in a restaurant management role
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills
  3. Fluent in Afrikaans and English (required)
  4. Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities
  5. Experience with inventory control, budgeting, and scheduling
  6. Well-organized with a proactive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities
  7. Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  8. A passion for food, beverage, and hospitality excellence
