The Compliance Specialist in Global Mobility is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the global mobility program adhere to legal and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on immigration, tax, and employment law compliance for internationally mobile employees.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Manage and coordinate the end-to-end process of global mobility assignments, including relocation as well as immigration, tax and social security compliance.
Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations in collaboration with external legal counsel or immigration specialists.
Coordinate and manage work permit and visa applications for international assignments, including supporting documentation and compliance checks.
Provide advice and guidance on cross-border tax and social security obligations and ensure compliance with regulations for globally mobile employees.
Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, such as relocation providers, immigration firms, and tax consultants.
Conduct briefings and trainings for employees and managers on global mobility policies, processes, and cultural considerations.
Stay updated with immigration laws, tax regulations, and cultural considerations in various countries to provide accurate advice and support.
Understand Unilever’s Global Mobility policies and how they should be applied to provide compliance support to each move type.
Manage business critical Mobility processes for the assignee population including Authorisation List and Tax Reconciliation settlements.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field.
3+ years experience in global mobility, compliance, or a related role.
In-depth knowledge of immigration laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Effective application of Global Mobility policy to an assignee population.
Working to deadlines and producing high quality work under pressure.
Skills
Knowledge of mobility technology platforms and reporting tools.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to synthesise large volumes of data to identify themes, trends, outliers - initially within excel but ability to enhance through automation/alternative systems is key.
Experience in working within a Global Mobility Centre of Excellence (CoE) or shared services environment.
Project management skills with experience in driving change and transformation initiatives.
Experience in process improvement, data analysis, and performance measurement.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to partner the business.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Constantly challenging the status quo and making suggestions to enhance and/or automate processes.
