Overview

A detail-oriented and analytical compensation analyst with strong proficiency in Excel and a solid understanding of compensation practices. This role involves analyzing compensation data, developing reports, and supporting the design and implementation of compensation programs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in compensation analysis or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and Power Query.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of compensation practices, principles, and regulations.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create complex spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and generate reports.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze survey results to benchmark company positions.
  • Develop and maintain compensation reports, dashboards, and metrics to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in job evaluations and the development of job descriptions to ensure accurate classification and alignment with compensation structures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to compensation.
  • Support the administration of annual compensation processes, including merit increases, bonuses, and equity awards.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to communicate compensation policies and procedures effectively.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, business periodicals, professional journals, and technical bulletins. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Must be able to deliver oral presentations and respond to questions from managers, engineers, and colleagues. Effective interpersonal communication and relationship development skills are essential, with frequent interaction at all organizational levels.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions, proportions, and percentages, and to apply basic algebra concepts.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, have good vision, depth perception, and focus. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Typically works in an office setting. May require visits to facilities or other locations, which could involve exposure to outdoor weather, loud noise, fumes, chemicals, or airborne particles.
